Cesta hrdinov SNP (Slovak National Uprising trail) is the most important trail in Slovakia, consisting of approximately 750-770km in total. It starts in the northeast of the country (Dukla Pass), ending on Devin castle in the west. Cesta Hrdinov SNP trails those parts of Slovakia which played important roles during the Slovak National Uprising in 1944 and 1945. While traveling by foot through mountains and small villages across the whole Slovakia, we had a chance to meet numerous SNP hikers. This humbling experience brings people together, focusing on our similarities rather than our differences. With my medium format camera I wanted to capture individuals that shared this important journey with us.
